Passenger Ferry Fire in Indonesia: At Least 5 Dead, Dozens Missing

A serious fire broke out on an Indonesian passenger ferry while it was traveling off the coast of Java island on Sunday, killing at least 5 people and leaving dozens of others missing, according to local authorities.

The ferry, carrying 271 people, caught fire mid-journey. Upon receiving the report, rescue teams and nearby vessels quickly approached the scene to evacuate hundreds of passengers and crew members from the ship engulfed in flames.

Rescue operations are still being conducted urgently to search for those still missing. The cause of the fire is under investigation by authorities.
