The Agriculture Minister confirmed that strategic reserves in the agricultural sector have increased compared to pre-conflict levels since the outbreak of hostilities.
Speaking at a regular press briefing, the Minister stated that the expansion is part of a broader plan to address fluctuations in global supply and prices, while ensuring a stable food supply for citizens.
According to him, strategic storage facilities have seen substantial replenishment, focusing on essential commodities such as grains, vegetable oils, and other key agricultural products. This enhances the country's capacity to respond to emergencies or supply chain interruptions.
The Minister also emphasized that beyond expanding reserves, the government is intensifying support for farmers to boost output, as well as improving logistics and distribution systems to mitigate risks from external shocks.
Analysts note that the decision to increase strategic reserves amid prolonged conflict is a prudent move to shield the economy from global food security uncertainties.
