During a recent meeting, Iran's Minister of Transport and Urban Development and Turkmenistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs focused on expanding cooperation in the transport sector. The two sides emphasized the importance of enhancing road, rail, and maritime connectivity to boost bilateral trade.
According to an official statement, Iran and Turkmenistan agreed to study the potential development of new transport routes, particularly the North-South Transport Corridor, linking the Persian Gulf with Central Asian countries. The talks also addressed simplifying customs procedures and improving infrastructure capacity at border crossings.
Turkmenistan's representative affirmed readiness for deep cooperation with Iran on transport projects, viewing this as a key factor in promoting regional integration. Iran likewise expressed hope that concrete agreements would soon be reached, facilitating the movement of goods and passengers between the two countries.
