Barcelona reclaimed the pinnacle of European women's football by defeating archrivals Lyon 4-0 in the Champions League final played in Norway. The victory secured a clean sweep of domestic and international trophies for the Catalan side this season and cemented their status as the new dominant force in women's football.
Forward Ewa Pajor, who had lost all five of her previous Champions League finals, delivered a brilliant performance with a brace. In the 55th minute, Pajor opened the scoring with a powerful long-range strike, and then in the 69th minute she slotted home from close range after Barcelona's attack repeatedly tore through Lyon's stretched defense.
Salma Paralluelo sealed the win with two goals: a hard shot that made it 3-0 in the 90th minute, followed by a composed finish in stoppage time. The first of Paralluelo's goals was set up by a 40-meter sprint from Patri Guijarro, a midfielder often overshadowed in the veteran-laden line-up alongside double Ballon d'Or winners Aitana Bonmatí and Alexia Putellas.
This marks Barcelona's fourth Champions League title in six seasons, ushering in a new era of dominance after previously enduring Lyon's long reign. Last season, Barcelona had fallen 1-0 to Arsenal in the final, narrowly missing out on a quadruple.
