Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref has accused hostile forces of seeking to destabilize the country through economic measures aimed at undermining national stability and unity.
In a statement carried by Iranian state media, Aref said economic pressure is part of an enemy strategy to cause political and social instability in Iran. He stressed that despite difficulties, the Iranian people have shown strong resilience against international sanctions and isolation.
Aref called on all citizens and authorities to strengthen unity and coordination to overcome current economic challenges. He also argued that harnessing domestic capabilities, boosting local production, and improving the business environment would be key to neutralizing external pressures.
The remarks come as Iran's economy continues to suffer heavily from U.S. sanctions, especially in the oil and banking sectors. Tehran officials often blame sanctions for the country's economic downturn, inflation, and rising unemployment.
The Iranian government has repeatedly said it will not yield to external pressure and remains committed to pursuing the country's socio-economic development based on internal potential.
