Israeli forces and settlers wounded six Palestinians, including two paramedics, in a series of attacks in the Nablus and Bethlehem governorates of the West Bank, according to local officials.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said its teams treated a man beaten by Israeli forces in Beit Furik, east of Nablus, on Friday. The organization is coordinating with the International Committee of the Red Cross to reach the man, who was detained after the assault.
Also according to PRCS, settlers vandalized a Palestinian vehicle in the same town.
In Bethlehem, three Palestinians were wounded after settlers attacked vehicles in the Abu Njeim area. Meanwhile, an ambulance crew responding to the wounded in the nearby Khalayel al-Louz area was pelted with stones, injuring two medics and damaging the vehicle.
Friday's attacks followed a week of Israeli military raids across the West Bank, including a two-day operation in the Qalandiya refugee camp that left 48 people wounded.
Palestinian monitors have documented more than 11,000 attacks across the West Bank since January.
Since October 2023, when Israel launched its genocidal war on Gaza, Israeli forces and settlers have killed at least 1,182 Palestinians in the West Bank, wounded around 13,000, and detained nearly 25,000, according to Palestinian officials.
Human rights groups accuse the escalating violence of serving to consolidate Israel's unlawful control over Palestinian towns and villages in the area.
The UN Office for the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) said settlers, alongside Israeli forces, “frequently attack families, burn mosques, and destroy and confiscate property.” The agency also said movement restrictions have become “more stringent than ever.”
In late July, OHCHR spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani stressed that states must act urgently to “end Israel's occupation” in the West Bank. She said: “With settler attacks, alongside the establishment of settlements and outposts reaching an all-time high, third states must act urgently and collectively to prevent the continued killing and dispossession of the Palestinian people.”
